EMDR Intensive Sessions
Focused Healing without the Wait
EMDR Intensives offer a faster-paced approach to therapy for individuals who are ready to go deeper than the traditional 50-minute session allows. Instead of spreading trauma processing out over weeks or months, intensives provide extended, uninterrupted time to safely work through specific memories, symptoms, or behavior patterns that feel “stuck.”
A 3-hour EMDR intensive allows us to move at your nervous system’s pace while maintaining momentum—creating space for meaningful processing, integration, and stabilization within a single, focused experience. This format is especially helpful for clients who have already done some therapy, feel plateaued in weekly sessions, or want a more efficient path toward relief. For some clients, the pace of weekly sessions can feel fragmented; EMDR intensives provide extended time that supports deeper processing and often accelerates therapeutic movement.
More progress in fewer sessions
EMDR intensives are grounded in a comprehensive, trauma-informed framework that recognizes healing happens not just cognitively, but through the nervous system and the body. To support this, EMDR is thoughtfully integrated with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SE).
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is used to help identify and work with protective parts of us that may be holding trauma, fear, or resistance. Rather than pushing through these responses, IFS allows us to build internal trust and cooperation, creating the conditions for deeper and more effective EMDR processing.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) supports awareness of bodily sensations, nervous system activation, and regulation throughout the intensive. This helps prevent overwhelm, supports completion of stress responses, and allows trauma to be processed in a paced, embodied way—especially important in longer sessions.
Together, EMDR, IFS, and SE create a flexible and responsive approach that honors your system’s signals and capacity, rather than forcing change.
Optional Nervous System Support Add-Ons
For clients who would benefit from additional nervous system regulation, the following options may be incorporated as part of the intensive experience:
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
SSP is a polyvagal-informed listening program designed to support regulation, safety, and social engagement. When appropriate, SSP may be used before or after an intensive to help stabilize the nervous system, improve emotional resilience, and support integration.
Rest and Restore Protocol
The Rest and Restore Protocol focuses on down-regulation and recovery, supporting the nervous system’s ability to return to a state of rest after trauma processing. This can be especially helpful for clients with chronic stress, pain, or autonomic nervous system sensitivity.
These add-ons are optional and always discussed collaboratively to ensure they align with your goals, capacity, and nervous system needs.
